Singles DiscographyGet the Balance RightChartsUK (13) Germany (38) Notes
Yes! The ultra-iconic pictographic men with hammers just says it all. "Balance" is a SoCal classic, in fact, it's the only reason I bother listening to KROQ. The second BONG made plenty of waves stateside as it became an influental mix in the fledgling house music scene that would rise to prominence later in the decade. The Combination Mix is a true remix classic that brings out the best of the song. The powerful imagery that endures in the BONGS is more prevalent with "Balance". Mart pens another brilliant song about life, a topic that's commercially unsafe. And don't forget about "The Great Outdoors", another cool instrumental by the poofy haired one. Sadly, GTBR is a bitch to perform live, let alone a bitch for other bands to cover, which is why you don't hear this too much at a DM concert. BONG 2 is where we get our first taste of the lads live. A live version of 'Tora! Tora! Tora!' graces the 12" single while "My Secret Garden", "See You", and "Satellite" also get featured on L12 BONG 2. This is the first L12 (Limted Edition 12" Single) issued by the band. It's part 1 of a 3 part, numbered limited edition live set. The covers are textured and leafed with gold foil. Now they're 20 years old! And they're that much harder to find. No bad video alerts here. The lads are more creative in the storyboard department here. I don't know who directed this one (definitely not Alan Smithee). There are subtle visual references to "A Clockwork Orange" plus a scene in an arcade which does it for me. Play Galaxian and they will watch. US Releases
