This was the first-ever release by the band after appearing on the "Some Bizzare" compilation with "Photographic". It charted at #57 in the UK, topping the UK indie charts in the process. The B-side, "Ice Machine" is an industrial classic that the band kept performing up to their 1984 tour. It's a prophetic track which previews the industrial direction the band would take in the years to come. If you have the CD Reissue of Speak and Spell, you get two slightly different versions of both these songs as bonus tracks.
