Albums DiscographyCatching Up With Depeche ModeChartsUS (113) Tracklisting
Singles NotesPart two of the fractured US singles campaign takes shape in the form of "Catching Up…". It's a release identical in artwork as "The Singles 81>85" but lacked the aforementioned press observations that adorned it. It was missing plenty, but then again, Sire used the "People Are People" compilation to fill the void and opted for this compilation not to have redundant tracks from the predesessor. Filling the void were not only the two single releases used to promote the album, but also their b-sides. Sire would release "Shake the Disease" solely in the form of a promotional 7" while the main focus was given to "It's Called A Heart" to help promote the compilation. Despite the excellent mixes from Joseph Watt, the best it could do was to manage a peak of #113 on the Billboard albums chart. In 1999, a newly remastered "The Singles 81>85" was released in the US with a new 86>98 themed cover and bonus tracks. The released closed the book on the debacles of both "People Are People" and "Catching Up…" campaigns. |
